My husband recently took me on a cruise. He said I needed some R&R. I think he wanted to go on the "big boat!" Regardless, we went and had fun. I spent much of the time taking awesome pictures and wondering how I could turn the shapes and colors into cards and how I could scrapbook the trip! So expect to see a little of this journey as I create the cards and scrapbook pages. Personally, I think the hardest part may be to narrow down the over 400 pictures we took! lol!
One day we went to a recently discovered (last 50 years or so) Mayan ruins site. It is outside of Progresso on the Yucatan Pensisula of Mexico. Here is a picture of what was to me, the most outstanding building. One of the archeologist discovered that on certain days of the year and the Winter and Summer Soltice, the sun shines directly through one of those little holes!
I wanted to create something similar, so I tried to use the colors and general shapes. What do you think? DId I succeed?
The new In Color, Pool Party, is the card base. I used Peach Parfait and Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke card stocks. I used Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Early Expresso Classic Inks to represent the colors of the picture. The Big Shot, the triple flower punch and some brads finish off the "suns." Oh, and the stamp set is Word Play. All products can be found in the 201-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog!
Hope you like today's card. Be on the look-out for lots more coming up!
Happy Stamping!
